EEPW Embedded Systems Editor’s Choice Awards 2009 Announced

 　　Background

　　As one of the important national prize awarding activities for embedded systems, EEPW’s Embedded Systems Editor’s Choice Awards has been successively held 6 years in succession, receiving the extensive acknowledgement of enterprises in the industry, which also include an additional prize “Embedded System Customer’s Favorite Measurement Solution Awards” (to be held each odd year) this year, expanding the coverage of EEPW Awards to several links in the development of embedded systems. This activity received vigorous support of many leading embedded system manufacturers at home and abroad as early as the brand collection of products stage. During the brand collection of products over two months, there were more than 60 types of embedded system related products entering for this awarding activity, including MCU, DSP, FPGA, IP core, microprocessor, embedded operating system, development tool and test tool, etc..

　　The “Embedded Systems Editor’s Choice Awards” of this year will be decided based on the following criteria:

• Leading in industry performance objectives
• Creation of a new application field
• Taking the initiative in the releasing of products in the industry
• Breakthrough in cost or cost performance

　　In the web voting process over one month for “Embedded Systems Editor’s Choice Awards 2009”, there were more than 1,100 valid votes from the enthusiastic netizens, fully representing the true views and opinions of the vast numbers of developers and users. The award-winning products of each group were determined finally on the basis of web voting with the integration of instruction opinions from China Computer Foundation Embedded System Technical Committee (Technical Committee on Microcomputers), China Semiconductor Industry Association IC Design Branch, and CSIA Embedded System and Application Committee, as well as the reviewing of EEPW’s embedded system editorial board members,

　　The “Embedded Systems Editor’s Choice Awards 2009” will be presented in the “University Electronics Forum” held in Tsinghua University on the afternoon of October 22, for which the prizes distributed to the netizens participating in web voting are offered by American Xilinx Inc. while the experts’ decision on awards is sponsored by American Broadcom Corporation.

• Embedded System Customer’s Favorite Measurement Solution Awards 2009 (for 3 companies)
